Dessert at Dockside

We have been to Dockside in the Coeur d’ Alene Resort quite a few times over the years. It has always been a very enjoyable experience. The atmosphere is great, the food is delicious, the waitstaff are helpful and kind, and the lake view is wonderful!

At the Dockside Restaurant

On this trip we decided to stop in and have some dessert…Gooeys, to be exact. They are the signature dessert at the Dockside restaurant, and there is a special menu dedicated just to them. They even have some tempting pictures and a display case of Gooeys and cakes, right as you come into the restaurant. A few of Dockside’s other sweet options featured on the Gooey menu include Crème Brulee, milkshakes, wonderful pies and cobblers, and other equally decadent desserts.

We had a hard time deciding which Gooeys to get, with so many delicious looking options. We finally went with the Royal Cheesecake Gooey, with all the fresh strawberries, and chunks of cheesecake. Joshua also thought we should get the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Gooey, which was a favorite of his. It was a good suggestion, and we all enjoyed it very much. All the chocolate, hot fudge sauce, and of course, peanut butter cups, tasted amazing with vanilla ice cream!

Dockside View

While we were waiting for them to create our beautiful, tasty, and very large desserts, we enjoyed the gorgeous view. We discussed the different boats in the marina, and wondered about the dog statues located here and there along the docks. It turned out they were placed there in an attempt to scare away the geese. It doesn’t seem to be helping very well.

This stop just thrilled the kids. Not only did they get to feast on scrumptious ice cream desserts, but there was also a goose nesting in a bush right behind us. That was a fun thing for them to see!

The whole experience was pretty close to perfect!
